From the BEST MISSION IN THE WOoooooRLD!

"Have I done any good in the world today? Have I cheered up the sad and made some one feel glad? If not I have failed indeed!" 

I love music! Music brings the best spirit! 

This week:

~ Got another referral and the members are working with so many of there friends! It great! 

~ Taught a lesson in Chinese!

~ Got transfer calls...I'm loosing Sis. Collins to Indiana University, but staying to partying it up with Sis. Reed!

~ Sam has to move. 

Peggy is the sweetest Chinese lady ever! She found out she is having a Girl and she and her husband are so excited. I took Sister Luo (Chinese) with me and they had the whole lesson in Chinese. The gift of tongues is real! Even though the lesson was in Chinese the spirit told me exactly what was said and what Peggy was feeling! It was sooo cool, at the end of the lesson Peggy offered the closing prayer. That's huge progress...now we need to get her husband on board!

I think I might just learn Chinese!

In District meeting we learned a couple of things:

1. We are going to be an iPAD mission in a couple of months! So stoked! (Actually we got this news a while ago and I can't remember if I told you guys yet...whoopsy)

2. All the Elders are .... interesting ... but I love them! They are bringing the Spirit of the Lord with them everywhere they go!

Perfect Obedience + Hard work = Miracles!!!

Hey everyone, This week has been over the top amazing! It's spring break for the college so the Chinese sisters came with us tracting on Tuesday and we found 2 families to teach!!! That's awesome!!! Peggy is from China and she knows very little about God but is open to bringing peace and joy in to her family life. She is pregnant but wanted to finish school before stating a family, we are teaching her the importance of families and how she is a daughter of God. She is soooo sweet and I just love her! 

Then there's Cade, he is the most mature 13 ever! He just had both grandmas pass in the last 3 months and is very curious about the plan of happiness. 

Then later on in the week we were tracting and got a voice mail from Sam, I thought for sure he was going to drop us. But instead he left this message: "I finally found a way to describe you two, Romans 10:15". I wanted to cry, he just loves us, and we love him! 

 

We then made the choice to check with a guy we met two weeks ago instead of go to the relief society activity. Marvin was kind enough to let us in. Marvin has come a long way, he lived without God for a long time til finally he decided something needed to change and that drinking his problems away was not the answer. He now loves the Lord and his Super bad leg ulcers have began to heal! He was about to say no thanks but I wouldn't let him get away that easily! I pulled up the church website on his phone right there and we watched a couple videos about Jesus Christ and he asked us the come back and teach him family! What!?!? 

 

Then on Friday Sister Peckinpaugh called and told us about her friend that came to the Relief Society activity (they made pads for girls in Kenya called Days for Girls) and she loved it! She is actively looking for a new church anyway and would love for her family to learn more! 

I could keep going but my time is running out, but its awesome here! Sister Collins and I have seen this area come alive in the last 4 months! It's to bad that transfers are next week, we'll see what happens and keep our fingers crossed!

The Lord is Hastening His work!

Lots of things happened this week, we had two members from the missionary head quarters come. They spoke on some really cool stuff, I unfortunately wasn't able to go, (the other sisters told me about it). 

The gospel is super basic! Keep it simple and ask lots of questions, but this is all stuff for me...anyway... 

 Sam has been doing good, he comes the church every once in a while and has finally gotten comfortable with us.

   We were able to meet with Alvis again, the sweet old man that lost his wife and daughter 3 years ago. We challenged him to pray, but he wont for some reason. He prays to his daughter and wife all the time but never to God. When Mary (his daughter) died she was in a coma and Alvis had to choose to let her go or keep her, he still blames himself and won't pray because he is scared he will get an answer and he won't like the answer. Anyway, he's definitely a work in progress. 

    Sister Collins and I have been trying to find this less active member, Phil, for a long time.  Well, we figured out he lives in the veteran's home we do service at. We finally gave up on finding him and when to find others, well the Lord had a different plan! As sister Collins was hanging up a poster in the veteran's home one day, a man was walking past and paused to read my name tag, he then stated, "Hey I belong to that church!" ...okay lots of people have said this and let me tell you, no they do not, they should but they don't. But this time he was right! It was Phil! It just amazes me that we found him after searching for so long! 

   This week has been crazy! I think the biggest thing that made my week was hearing how members have helped missionaries, I just love those stories! I know this wont be new for any of you but I want you to share something from Mormon Channel RIGHT NOW! on Facebook, twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, or in a text message. I know it's sooooo hard, but do this one little favor for the God you Love. This simple act can help move his work along. I love you Guys, have a safe week!

Two weeks ago we did a weird service project...modeling wedding dresses!!!! Let me just tell you, I am Not a size 6! It was still fun, I hope this will help her sell them. ...anyone want a wedding dress?

Another Day in the canyon.

 On Sunday a member was going to feed us but her kids got sick so we went to a baptism the Spanish elders had. Then we ate dinner with them!!! That was the best part, flan for days!  and more.
