Christmas Eve!

Sister Partridge skyped with her family on Christmas Eve then went to their dinner appointment at the Davis' home.

On Christmas morning, the sisters and elders went to the Foster's home to open presents and stockings.  This was posted on Facebook on Klisse Foster's page.  It was fun to see everyone so happy.

"It's a Christmas Miracle!"

We had Elder Anderson come visit our mission and it was great but what was even better was our investigators came to the Christmas Party!!

Elder Anderson is a sweet man. I came to the realization this week
that the Apostles of the Lord are just like you and me, they just
listen to the spirit when it calls and they have authority to do other
things. The thing that struck me the most was how personal he was with everyone. He basically said be yourself and get to know others and Care for others and you'll baptize all of Terre Haute! Jk, he basically said we need to love one another and act on our faith. I like it! Oh Ya, and he said to find 5-10 scriptures in the New testament and Book of Mormon that I, personally, Believe and memorize them and bare simple testimony of that one attribute of Christ.

Now for an update on the Week:
The Christmas party was the BEST!!!
- Beverly came and had So. Much. Fun! This is saying something because she has struggled with social anxiety for awhile, but she was so excited she got dressed and ready for church on Sunday and her sister, Carol, had taken the car! We were bummed that she didn't make it to church but she'll be coming next week!
- Kim has never met anyone in the ward and she finally met Sister
Christie at dinner on Thursday. They were perfect for each other! Kim also came to the party and Loved it, she got the flu Sunday morning and couldn't come, but she, too tried!
I love Bev and Kim soooooooo much! Its a HUGE blessing that they came and now have friends! Its a HUGE blessing, I have so much to thank the lord for!
-Last of all, Walter. He has been running into a lot of anti lately so
we had a great lesson with Him, Eve (girlfriend), Mom (sister
Woolsten), and dad (Bro Woolsten). We spent the whole hour getting all surprises out of the way. Yep, it all started with Kolob and just got better from there! It was really a great lesson and Walter is so prepared for this, for living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He's on date for Dec 23rd!

I know that My Redeemer lives and He can work miracles! 1 Nephi 9:6 says "For the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning, therefore he prepared a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it it. Amen"

I love you all! Have a Merry Christmas and #LightTheWorld

This is Jack the Cat. Beverly's pride and joy!

Thank you Makhenna for teaching me how to chalk art! Yo the best!

Sister Chase got History of the Church volumes 1-3 ... yep, I just
lost a companion... haha

This little light of mine, I'm gunna Light the World, Light the World, Light the World

First off OMGoodness! #LightTheWorld is taking off!
Sister Chase and I started early and helped Sis Tidd clean an
apartment. I don't know whats worse roaches or there poop! ....No no
definitely the roaches! We also got to rack leaves with our feet! Yay!

Highlights of the week:
-Wednesday we tried hanging #lighttheworld posters and it didn't go so
well so we walked around and waved at people.
- We met with a new investigator named Dottie! I love Dottie!!!! She
has just had a lot of scares in her life. She thought she had cancer,
her step in parents for her son died last month, and her son is moving
away to college. Dottie wants to go to church but wants to pick the
best one. Dottie is a member referral from Sis Jenkins in Virginia!
Yay members!!! She is so excited to read Alma 32!
- Walter is doing great! We moved his date to the 23rd of Dec. and he
is soooooo excited about getting baptized! This wouldn't have happened
with out members help and the Lords hand!
- We got to help in the Parade! I made alot a really loud
commitments...I was crowed control, there is no better way to have
power go to your head then give some on a red vest and a flashing
night-night stick! It was great and I think we found a couple of
potentials for the college sisters!

This week was a roller coaster of emotion but Sister Chase is so
amazing, she pulled us though a lot of it and it worked out. The Lord
knows our needs and will always come to our call! The blessing of the
knowledge of the Book of Mormon is evidence of that in and of its
self! My new favorite video is one the church made about the good
Samaritan. We are all children of God, serve him today by serving His
children.

Have a great Christmas season and don't forget that I love you!

#LightTheWorld - Bringing in the Awesome!!

The answer to the Universe is.... is..... is.... 42! Just kidding, its
actually Jesus with a side of Service.

Hey Everyone, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I know I did!  We had 3 dinners and lots of leftovers! The people we are working with this week were...
- First Beverly H., we had turkey and showed her the new Christmas movie! #Light The World, then SHE looked up the Joseph Smith movie and we watched "The Prophet of the Restoration" on Youtube. It was awesome! We got to the part when everyone was being kicked out and we had to go, but SHE asked when church was! It was all her idea, she didn't make it to church but shes progressing!
- Walter D. is on DATE!!!! Yay!!! He will be baptized next week on the 9th of Dec. He has been moving fast but he knows what hes doing! The prophet asked us to find young kingdom builders and Walter is Heaven sent! Just a couple more lessons and he'll be in for Life!
- Kathy is also some one we've been trying to work with, she has been going through a lot lately and is finally getting on her feet, she is so spunky, its a blast.
- Kim has really grown, she defended the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith this last week! She also has been able to identify the Holy Ghost in us, she loved her baptism into a non-dom church but knows this is what she wants with her heart. I've loved seeing Kim grow!
This time of year is special for the whole world, in some way or
another everyone celebrates Sharing, Giving, or Serving. There is
nothing that makes me more happy then Serving others and if that's what Christ did, then that's what we should do!
One of the best moments on my mission happened after leaving
Wendy's last month. We had been having a morning of no progress,
walking around downtown, when this lady came up behind me and asked if I was a Mormon. I said yes and she thanked us both for the modesty we kept.
This lady has no idea how much confidence that gave me for the day. I felt ten times better!
Please, never underestimate the power of a complement or a smile. This Christmas will be different because of the service of others.
Join in today and share your talents with others. Lets change the
world though the Light of Jesus Christ! Check it out at Mormon.org

I love you all and will be thinking about you this Christmas season!
Have a great week!
Love, Sister Partridge :)

I'm Grateful for my Savior! What a great guy! :)

 What a good look'n comp.
This week has been incredible all because of the Book of Mormon and my Savior!
- Walter is doing great! He and the Woolstens will be in Moab this
week, but all is good!
- Kim has read almost all of 1 Nephi and knows its true! She has felt
the power of the Book of Mormon and is almost ready to live the word
of wisdom.
- We just met Myla! Myla is a member referral that is agnostic but is
still very interested in coming to church. We will be working with her
now too! Yay member referrals!!!

This week I went back in time to something I like to call Early
Morning Seminary. Wow, is it different then payed seminary! So much
respect! Walter was asked to give a lesson on the Atonement of Jesus
Christ and we were going to follow up with Faith and Repentance. It
was soooo special to read the new criteria for the students, I
absolutely love it!!!
If you ever have a moment look up #3. I haven't felt the spirit as
strong as when I was learning about Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for
me.
He lived a perfect life but felt the filth of my sins, so I have
the chance to return to my father in heaven. My favorite part to this
whole plan God has set for us is Faith in Jesus Christ and Repentance.
The Faith is key! Repentance means nothing to us and God, if we don't
believe Jesus suffered for us individually. But when we do believe is
Jesus as our Savior, there is no greater joy! Its like Christmas on
steroids!!! You feel lighter, others see a difference in you, and I
know I've seen the difference in me! I'm not saying it will be a cake
walk, on the contrary, if you feel opposition it means you are about
to do something to make yourself or others joyful and someone out
there doesn't want that. In the grand skeem of this life, I could talk
all day long but in the end the spirit will be the converter, here' s
the last of my ploy.
Have faith in the great plan, in Jesus Christ and let your self feel joy!
Have a great feast with out me, I know it will be hard but I know you
can do it! Haha!
Love ya!
Sister Partridge :)

"Jesus is the real deal!"

Hello Hello Everybody!
This week was magical with the Spirit of the Lord! We had a lot of
appointments fall through this week but obedience and diligence helped
us push though! One big miracle we had was from the Worthington
family, Bro W took us around his neighborhood to show us where his
friends lived and share about there lives so we can "tract" into them
this week! The miracle is being able to see/feel just how much he
loves his friends. There would have been no way for me to feel such a
desire for the salvation of so many without the Worthingtons showing
me! Tracting will never be done with this much love before!
- Walter is soooooo close to being on date, he knows its true, he
loves the "feeling" he gets when he comes to church and he has the
best members helping him through his journey! I'm so glad to be apart
of the Lord's work!
Walter's dad would always say "When life sucks, it's still
Awesome" and I believe him! Wise words Dad, wise words! He's right,
with faith in Jesus Christ life's still awesome!
Jesus Christ is still cheering us on! He chose to be the redeemer
in heaven for us! He chose to come to earth for us! Jesus Christ chose
to save not just one or two, he chose to save me and You! Oh what love
that must have been! I want you all to know that I love you and you
all mean so much to me! Thank you for the prayers, Have an Awesome
week...because when it sucks, it's still Awesome! :)
Love ya, Sister Partridge

P.S. Broiling toast is a very bad idea! Lol, our fire alarm definitely
works and the oven is still intact! Ha! Never doing that again...

Miracles for Days!!!

Halloween Party

Hey Everyone this week has been buckets of Fun!
Up date on Investigators:
- Bev wasn't feeling good and cancelled this week, but that's okay,
I'll get her one day.

- We Got 3 New this week!!!!! YAAAAAY! Walter D. is so cool! He is 18
years old and dating a member in the ward. We taught the Restoration,
Gospel of Jesus Christ and Plan of Salvation all this week!!! He is
from a Catholic home but has been attending early Morning seminary and
church for at least a month. He hasn't said yes to baptism but thats
not a no...
- Dottie or Dorathy was a member referral from a member in the ward,
she is looking for "something more" in her life and wants a new bible.
She has been talking with at least two of her Mormon friends and wants
a Book of Mormon too! We were going to be meeting her tonight but shes
now sick but the future is bright!
- Brandon is the investigator from last week and it gets even
better... we showed up for our return appointment on Wednesday and he
wan't home but his Mom was! Karen was sooooo excited to see us, she
was kind of all over the place but she kept saying something about
Joseph Smith crossing a river? We eventually learned she was taught
the Restoration two years ago by Elder Kyle Norris (my now District
leader) but the story was never finished! She has been thinking about
Joseph Smith's story for two years and now we, by God's grace, get to
finish that story! Miracles!!! This really taught me the power of
being bold, when we open our mouths for good we can do no wrong!

I love the Gospel!! This is the Lord's work! I want you all the know
that I love you and that God only gives us more then we can handle so
we will turn to him and rise in glory together!
Challenge time! Text the first three people that come to your mind and
tell them how much you appreciate them. The Lord wants to bless each
of us and he does that through You and Me!
Promise: You will feel better, your day will go better and you will
lift all you talk with!
I have felt God's love for me through all of you at one place or time,
Keep being awesome!
Love ya, Sister Partridge

p.s I got a hair cut... yep that's a trash bag! Rock'n it!

"What the Fart is that?" said the crazy great grandma...

The final week of any transfer is always full of good, Great, and ...what?
Here's the slice:
- One of our eternal investigators has been reading a Mormon blog and got some great questions on Judgment and the spirit world! We're going to teach her tonight...pray this works! I love Bev Hamilton and she's ready for this!
- Family History is nuts, we've been seeing the spirit of Elijah
everywhere we go and its the only way to tract in rich neighborhoods.  Indexing is needed....FYI.
- Emily Goates/Shaw (wow that's weird) had a baby!!! Congratulations!
I'm so glad you lived!
- I'm staying in Terre Haute for 6 more weeks!

This week has been so fun and you know what, I believe its because of the spirit. What a magical feeling the spirit can bring and that's really how we feel Joy. Sister Chase and I shared a message with some members and when we asked for suggestions Lucas (RM) taught me about the importance of a powerful spiritual punch. Lucas has a list of 7 things that bring the spirit. A couple of them are reading from the scriptures and testifying of Jesus Christ. I want your ideas on these 7 things...What brings the spirit into your life?

2 Corinthians 3:17

1 John 4:6
We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

D&C 84:46
And the Spirit giveth light to every man that cometh into the world;
and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that
hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit.

:) Have a great week!

Rubbadubb bub Thanks for the Grub...

You can always tell when Sister Partridge is hungry, it's just about
time for dinner, so this might be short...But This week was great! We
got another referral from a member and are way excited to drop by and
meet them. Ya gotta love those referrals!

Update on the car: it was completely fine! Just a loose wire that
made all the warning lights go off. Monday night sister Chase and I
got to bike through the sketchy part of town... in the dark, it was
great! Sister Chase got a flat tire and was attacked by a broken
fence that was hiding in the over hanging tree limbs, on the sidewalk,
so now she has a wicked scar starting. It was great! Bikes are soooo
dangerous! It was way funny!!
We spent most of the week learning the chirst-like attribute: Patience
and Knowledge. When we left the Library last week a man on a moped
stopped us and asked us what happened to the lost tribes of Israel?
...so yes, Sister Collins and I read the Bible lol... a lot this week in
search of the Lost tribes and learned a lot of cool stuff!

Knowledge is first found in Caring about something. Then having the
desire to study for it. We first must know the scriptures in order to
share our knowledge. One this I have noticed this week is the
difference in the members who "know" the scriptures and those that
"what to know" the scriptures. Those that "know" have stopped there
search for truth and knowledge and are less happy then those that
continually have questions and study them.
Those that take the time to study will increase in light and knowledge
more then anyone else. That is why the Prophet- No, The Lord has asked
us to read and ponder the Book of Mormon. The answers to life's hardest
questions are found in the sacred book we have! Read it! and Share it
on facebook, twitter, and instagram! This is pure joy, you know it and
I know it! and if you don't know it, go pray about it, because we have Joy at
our finger tips. We just need to study!
I love all of you, so Much! I pray for you and wish you a great week!
Sister Partridge :)

Preach My Gospel is a great study guide! fyi :D

Fasting Miracles are a real Thing!

Hey Everyone,
Hope ya'll had a good week! Indiana has been way fun for Sister Chase and I. We finally finished a map of the area and were able to start on the ward directory. We met a lot of people this week and its been great! The work is moving forward and we are seeing the Lord chasten his people.

The miracle I am most grateful for started yesterday in church. We
fasted as a mission for the members and for Investigators, I have
never seen such a fast answer to any fast. It started with 5
nonmembers coming to sacrament meeting because members invited them, then when testimonies began it happened so fast I had no time to get up, everyone who stood up shared there love for the Lord and Missionary work. We even went over! We had a solid hour and a half of testimonies of missionary work! I haven't felt the spirit that strong in a while, and a couple non members got up to share as well!  Almost like lightning we started to get into conversations to help members work with there friends and even made a couple dinner appointments with non members! And the miracle continues, its amazing and I don't even know what happened!
Moral of the story: Fasting and prayer works!  And invite a friend to dinner with the missionaries! God loves each one of us and it is
because of that love he answers our prayers, it may not be in the way you think but He will always answer!
One of the best weeks ever, I want to cry with tears of Joy!

Also our car has been malfunctioning so we get to ride bikes for the
next couple of days. Ahh, the good old days. Sore butts and sweat for
days!! :)

I love you all, hope you all have a great October!
Love ya, Sister Partridge

Holiness to The Lord

Hey Everyone this week was crazy, "let me explain no there is too
much, let me sum up":
~Wednesday we got a referral for Bryan Jones. His brother Bill wanted
us to visit him in the hospital. We went and talked for awhile and He
wanted to meet again. YES! 1 New Investigator!
~ Thursday we went on crazy exchanges and found another super solid
investigator...for the YSA sisters. Her names Iris.
~ Friday we went back to visit Bryan and he wasnt in his room, the
nurses kept asking if we were family, finally they told us Bryan died
Thursday. YEESSSSSSsssss! 1 New Investigator ...... for my Grandpa!
He'll do great, Spirit World's the Best of all the amusement parks!
~ Saturday we met with Excel for bible study and his favorite
scriptures are in Isaiah! We read from the BOM and he ate it up, he
kept saying of that sounds like this scripture in Mathew or
Revelations. We will be meeting with him again next week.
~Sunday, General Confrence was awesome!!! Take that Satan, Everything
was soooooo good! We met with Iris as well.

So many amazing things happened this week, I cant tell all of them but
I do have a couple short stories I wanted to share, so if you don't
have time you can pick one and enjoy!

The day we went on exchanges was spiritually insightful. Sister Chase
went to Indiana University and I got Sister Mac for the day. We felt
like we needed to go to the park and so we prayed and went. ...There
was like 2 homeless probs high people in the park and that was about
it. We walked around for an hour with no one is sight so we desired to
leave. As we were walking back to the car we say this young black girl
walking a said hi. We soon found out she was looking for some kind of
faith builder and asked to meet with us! Now fast forward to Sunday,
we are back in the park with Iris for a faith building lesson. We
talked about the Grace and sacrifice of Jesus Christ and what that
means for her. She was so happy you could just see it on her face. We
had to cut things short because she was going to the late night mass
(yes shes Cathlic). As we walked we told her about how we came to be
"sisters" and she asked if we had a shorter name. Yep thats when we
mentioned Mormon. I got all tense inside expecting her to freak out or
run away or something, but her reaction was quite the opposite. She
got soooo excited she nearly made me pee my dress! She looked at us
and stated with so much joy that David Archuleta is Mormon! I have
never fan girled so hard in my life! She is looking forward to meeting
with us again, she feels "compelled to learn more about Mormonism". I
was on such a spiritual high last night, it feels so good to be an
instrument in the Fathers hands.

The prophet we have today means everything to me! His word and work is
all from God the Eternal Father. Be sure to go back and read his words
and listen with an open heart for the spirit. The only way to
happiness in this life and in the next is by living the words of our
Prophet Thomas S. Monson. If you feel hard and unreachable I would
encourage all of you to listen to the primary hymns, magic will
happen, I promise!

I love you all and I wish you the Best! Have a great week!
~Sister Partridge

P.s. Funny Story:I was on exchanges with sister Mac and we were
driving back to bowling green and the GPS was going crazy! Probably
the most sketch thing I've done in a while, 1st off we had just been
talking about how much we hate the walking dead and its like 9pm
and we are driving on dirt roads through the corn with no street
lights! Anticipation kept
building the further we went through the dark, we were passing all the
super creepy old falling apart farm houses when we make a turn into
.... wait for it....FOG! WTHeck i almost
peed my pants, I was going to loose it. Its a good thing no one was on
that road that night, cus I would have been charged for man slaughter!
I was freaking out and sister Mac was freaking out and we were in the
middle of no where waiting to die! It was a great night. :)
