Family; What God gave us because He loves us!

Hello Hello! from Indiana!
This week was a long grind full of door knocks and sunshine!
There were so many tender mercies this week! Mostly everyone we talked
with was super sweet! We spent the week talking about families and
evenings and the home....kind of like Family Home Evening!
It was way fun to get out in the sun and talk with others about what I
love so much! Sunday, after church, we went out personal contacting
(talking to people on the street) and I had never done this mind you
so my anxiety was sky high! But through the grace of God we met the
nicest people!
We posed the question, what do you love about your family? and the
answers were great! One that I really liked was given by a 16 year old
boy that was at the park with his family and friends for a party. Omar
loves his family because "they support him".
Oh. My. Goodness! I love you Omar! I don't know why but his response
gave me faith in humanity again! It must have had something to do with
the universal law that we are all family and we are all here to
support one another!
I am so excited for Ministering! Because its basically an excuse to
visit my friends and hang out with them. 1 Nephi 3:7 I know that the
Lord will always make a way for us to accomplish his will, this is one
of his ways to help us have a greater love for our brothers and
sisters.
Family Is Forever!!!!

I love you all so much! Thank you for your prayers and your support!
Have a blessed week everyone!
All the Love,
Sister Partridge :)

"By Small and Simple things..." Alma 37:6-7

Wow! These last two weeks let me tell you!
Imagine the squirrel from "Over The Hedge" and that has been me all week!
We taught all Wednesday, we had no time for anything else and then I
began to fizzle out near the end of the week. But we finished strong
by regrouping and going over my expectations and the Lord's
expectations.
God doesn't expect us to be perfect, in fact he planned on it!
Yep, he planned on us falling, that's why we have a Savior and it is
through him that we can find the most Joy!
Okay that's enough about that, This week I have really learned the
power of small and simple things. I love love love President Oaks talk
on small and simple things because it is through those small thoughts,
feelings, and ideas that lead to a small action that leads to a group
of small actions that leads to baptizing all of Indiana! Lol.
But really, I started to focus on the small things in my day that
cause my great successes. #1 is prayer, believe it or not, and from
there it's telling my comp what I'm thinking. I have gained so much
strength to fight some bad habits because I know this basic truth
taught by an apostle of God and in the Book of Mormon.
I have seen many mighty miracles in my time but non of those have
carried me as far as the small things I have done day after day. I've
started to pray for more little things then big eye openers, because
this is something I want for life not just for 18 months.
I have seen the power of little things, so be sure to read your
scriptures, pray daily, and go to church. More power and strength will
come through these three things then all the power and strength of an
earthquake or hurricane. When life is centered on Jesus Christ you can
never fall!
Amen.

Thanks for being you!
I love ya! Have a great week everyone, and I'll talk to you soon. :)

When was the last time you met King Lamoni?

Who has a Golden missionary? I have a Golden missionary!
Sister Johnson is Straight from the Missionary training center and is pumped for the work!
We have already done so much! We have tried to contact three different referrals and each one led us to some great potential! We have seen so many miracles in the last six days its been amazing!
God has been wanting to give us investigators and once I realized that and stared to pray for it, everything just changed over night. I love this gospel so much! I love my Father so much!

Quick/not quick story:
Sister Johnson had only been in Indiana for less then 24 hours and we went to see Dorothy, an investigator we've been working with. Through a series of spiritual promptings we got there right as Dorothy was leaving so we followed her, I wasn't letting her get away that easily. But things took a rather strange turn as Dorothy ran into the apartment next door where she found AJ in an emergency situation, it the frantic panic of calling 911 and his sisters, AJ saw us outside and called us in. So there we were, standing in this man's home as Dorothy is screaming in his face I'm holding his hand and rubbing his back and were standing there like, what should we do?!?
By the time EMS got there he was much more calm and as they wheeled him out he asked us to come back.
After three days of trauma recovery for me we went back and he was so happy to see us! He just lit up with the biggest smile! We set a return appointment and went back the next day.
The first lesson we just talked about prayer and how he feels the Holy Ghost. We shared how we feel him and he was able to tell us several times when he feels him too!
Things were kind of fizzy for him until the thought came to mind to give him a picture of Jesus.
Thanks to my sweet mom, I had pictures of Christ to give to people. I pulled out the picture of Christ knocking on the door with no door knob. I asked him what he saw and we talked about it. He lit up and almost glowed when he read the inscription "Let Him In" on the back! AJ was so excited he wants us to meet his sisters and share his findings on Facebook!

This whole experience, I feel, could be summed up as the story of Ammon and King Lamoni.... We came at just the right time to "save his life" as AJ put it, and Dorothy had talked about us before (the servants bring the arms to the King),  which opened his heart and now he is asking us how to feel the spirit and sharing it with all who know him! I can see how Ammon felt to teach King Lamoni and it is so sweet! - Alma 17-18

I love my companion! I love her enthusiasm and love for this work and for Christ!

The Lord is mindful and cares about his children! If we follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost we will never be wrong and we will be filled with the love and light of Christ!
I challenge all who read this to remember to Let Christ In, meaning remember what he has done for you this week and read President Nelson's talk on revelation April 2018, you will find answers to all your questions, I promise!

Have a great day, everyone, I love you so much!

"Cool, now I have two of them." - studio c

Has it really been a week!?! Bye George it has!

Well this week was spent cleaning and packing and cleaning because sister Summerhays is going home and... I'm training! I get another baby! Now I have two of them!
Just kidding this is going to be crazy, that poor girl has no idea what she's getting, but I have faith... As mom would always so, "it's all for your spiritual growth". Thanks mom. I'm feeling it now!
This week was really really good. We have the most amazing member that invited her friend to take the discussions and it went sooooo well! The spirit was so strong!
Then that night we had dinner with this really cool army vet. He tours the USA and gives motivational speechs. Honestly changed my whole out look on the Book of Mormon characters. He really brought them to life in his stories, it was really cool.
One story he told was how Hope can come from the most obscure things. While things looked really bad he received a package one day from his mom. It happened to be a small harmonica. He didn't know how to play the harmonica but he learned. He practiced every day and got so good that the men in his group would get concerned if he stopped playing. What seemed to be a silly little toy turned out to be an object of joy, comfort and peace!
My message is simple this week. Find joy today in something new today. What would you really miss if you went without? Indoor plumbing? Carpet or wood flooring? Shoe laces? The color of the grass?
I know I find joy in how may lights witches my apartment has!
I love you all and wish you a good week!
Sister Partridge ☺️

Hallelujah! Praise to the Man!

 Good morning everyone!
This week was all over the place! One day we are
out teaching and preaching and the next I'm asleep at
2pm and can't force myself to wake up! I got a cold
somewhere and we'll you all know how that feels, haha!
:) Life is good in B-town! We put Mya on date....for next
March!Betty watched conference with us and
committed to be a Mormon for 3 weeks! (thanks sister chase!
;)We still are praying for new investogators so I
know we'll start to see results
soon. General conference was Tha-best! My
biggest take aways were:            We are
all children of God and he is wanting to give us comfort,
guidance, council, and love.           All
can receive personal revelation, it's not hard! Just
pray and listen with a pencil in your hand and paper on your
lap.            Saving Ordinance are
required! Temple work changes souls and protects us from
everyday hurts, it gives us strength to
forgive!            The
scripture I'm memorizing this week is Ether 12:27
let's see if I can get it right... "And if men come
unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto
men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is
sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for
if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me,
then will I make weak things become strong unto them.
"I know that self-forgiveness is a gift from
our brother and Savior. The everyday mistakes we make
aren't always as big as we treat them. Look to the
Savior for strength and ask for a new hour, day, week,
month, or year. It's okay to fall down because Christ
can lift us back up. ☺️Thank you for all the
prayers, I love you! Have a great
week! Sister Partridge
Thanks mom for the package! I love the artwork!
It made my day. :)
