Hey Everyone,
What a great week it is! The sun is shinning, the tank is clean. The Tank is Clean! Since transfers last week, Sister Collins and I are the only
missionaries in our ward! They removed the Elders and it has taken a
blow, but if this is the Lord's will, then it will work out for the best!
With the wards support we will have all the baptisms!
Today we plan on digging in deep and knocking on all the doors in West
Lafayette. We are going to give out 5 copies of The Book of Mormon today and get a
family to teach, too! Its going to be great!
This last week was great ! We got Sam to watch the Restoration on his
own then invite him to a baptism. He enjoyed the baptism but he really
enjoyed the Joseph Smith video.
After we left his house Wednesday night he watched the Restoration,
sat back and thought "Did I get the whole message?" He prayed, then
watched it again! I have never heard so much joy come from any one this
old in my whole life! He was so excited to tell us that he believed
Joseph Smith and he believed he "wrote" (miner flaw, we're working on it)
The Book of Mormon. He said he was Moved! This is a big break through
for Sam, if he felt the spirit then miracles happen! I don't know how
but the spirit was able to touch Sam that night. I pray as he reads The
Book of Mormon that he will continue to feel the Holy Ghost.
My only thought for the week is about Dwelling in the Positive. When
we dwell somewhere we stay for a long time in that place. The 1830's
dictionary says to stay in a home or place for weeks, months, or years.
Hard times will always come, that's the only way we can learn, but if we
dwell in the little things that make us happy, we will have no fear. We
truly will be a light on a hill. This last week has been full of some
rocky stuff. Someone told me they worship satan... it was scary... but
then we met this super awesome girl who loves backpacking as much as me!
We talked for an hour and left a Book of Mormon lighter. If we work on
being happy, we will always be happy! Look to a bright future and if you
can't find anything to be happy about break out the ice cream, turn up
the music and create something to be happy about!
Let's
follow our dear prophets words when he says "In all of living, have
much fun and laughter. Life is to be Enjoyed, not just Endured!" ~
President Hinckley.
I
challenge everyone, with me, this week to find 5 things everyday that
they enjoyed. God didn't make us to live in gloom, God made man "that
they might have JOY!"
Thank you for all the Love,
Sister Charlotte Partridge :D
